Listers

The Board of Listers is a three-member, elected Board charged with the responsibility of determining the fair-market-value of real property, working with a State Assessor, who provides professional assistance.  The property values serve as the basis upon which the Selectboard sets property tax rates.  Members are elected for staggered three-year terms.  The Listers preside at scheduled Grievance Hearings each spring to hear appeals from property owners regarding the assessed value of their homes.

Elected Board of Listers

Panton currently has no Listers. If you are intersted in the position, please call the Town Clerk at (802) 475-2334.

Tax Parcel Maps

Panton has been divided into a grid of 10 equally-sized sections for mapping purposes.  To find a parcel, first review this index file and see which section the parcel is in.  Then, click on the number of the section to see that section of the map in greater detail. Each map has an index of the tax map id, owner of record from the 2019 Grand List and parcel id in the lower right.  Hard copies of these maps in larger sizes are available for review at the Town Hall.
Population: People 677; Cows 3518; Chipmunks 74,239 - 2020 was a resoundingly great year for chipmunks. Many calories burned (aggravating climate change) chasing each other all season.
