Dog Licensing
The State of Vermont requires all dogs to be licensed with the Town Clerk's office.

V.S.A. § 3581. General requirements

(a) A person who is the owner of a dog or wolf-hybrid more than six months old shall annually on or before April 1 cause it to be registered, numbered, described, and licensed on a form approved by the Secretary for one year from that day in the office of the clerk of the municipality in which the dog or wolf-hybrid is kept

Your dog must have a valid rabies certificate on file to register. The registration fee is $11.00 for a spayed/neutered animal and $19.00 for an intact animal. Licenses can be processed through the mail by sending a check and valid copy of your dog's rabies certificate. If you call, town staff can verify whether there is a valid rabies certificate for your dog/s already on file. (802) 475-2333.
