BURN PERMITS
Panton's Fire Warden is Matt Fraley.

Even though we seem to have snow or rain weekly, fire danger is high due to strong winds, which dry the vegetation even when the ground is wet.

When fire danger is high, burn permits will only be issued in certain situations as determined by the Fire Warden.

You can check fire danger levels at https://fpr.vermont.gov/forest/wildland-fire/monitoring-fire-danger

You can contact Matt at (802) 759-2601 (H) or (802) 777-7972 (C).

FOR EMERGENCIES
Fire, Rescue and Police - dial 911. If you are using a cellular phone, your call will go to NY. Tell the dispatcher you need help in Vermont.

NON-EMERGENCY NUMBERS
Addison County Sheriff's Department 388-2981
Vergennes Area Rescue Squad 877-3683
Vergennes Fire Department 877-3201
Vergennes Police Department 877-2201
Vermont State Police 388-4919

The Town of Panton offers a free WiFi hotspot available to the public outside the Panton Town Offices.  Please use at your convenience during these challenging times.
